Brewfest nails! Bubbly gold glitter with foamy white head spilling over the tips.

The aforementioned gradient to goth up DVD for me:
My first gradient attempt, outside of swatches! Realized halfway through that I was painting in much too little light and couldn’t completely see what I was doing, but I didn’t bother to relocate, so it got a bit thick near the end. I’m kind of digging it, though— the Black Creme reminds me of dripping hot tar. My thumb’s blending is what I’m shooting for on all of them next time. Cleanup was a beast…
Sally Hansen HD - DVD
I’d opted for a light color deliberately to hide the chips I expected to get from cleaning out our old warehouse at work. I was immediately reminded that I really don’t like having light-colored nails, and I don’t think the cool periwinkle and lavender shades quite work with my skin tone, but the color was too pretty to take off! Once the major cleaning day was over, I gothed it up with a dark gradient, which will be in the next post.
That Seacret cuticle oil in #1? Aaamazing. It’s part of a full nail care set, a holiday gift from my future father-in-law a couple years back. If you tilt your head left (to match the angle of the original pic), you can see how much is left in the bottle, even after years of occasional (now much more frequent) use. I’ll definitely be picking up another bottle, if/when this one ever runs out. Their whole “minerals from the Dead Sea” angle is a little hokey, but the product is solid!
Sally Hansen Magnetic - Electric Emerald
So, so, SO in love with this! So much visual texture and golden shimmer, like a poisonous green tiger’s eye… It took a lot of willpower not to just repaint with the same polish at the end of the week. I meant to pick up the rest of the colors in the set (I already have Graphite Gravity), but then I spotted Wet n Wild’s new line of magnetics for half the price and with intriguing colors, so… Three WnW magnetic swatches coming soon!
Fourth of July nails!
